No I haven't forgotten it!

With my move south, I haven't had much time to work on my blog over the past few months. I have started painting again thugh, and am working on a European village (unfinished version pictured above), Numidian cavalry for my Carthaginian army, and some command figures in chariots for my upcoming Trojan army.

Now that I've figured out how to download photos from my "new" (bought last November) camera to my pc, I should be able to start taking pics of my work for this blog again.

New Kingdom Egyptian Pharaoh

My New Kingdom Egyptian army can now beled by the Pharaoh himself!

Cesar Miniatures "Pharaoh's Chariot" set also came with a variety of civilians, who will be joining the camp of the army in due course.

I'm looking forward to matching my Egyptians and my Hittites up against each other in the New Year, once I've settled into my new home in Kentucky.

Hopefully I'll get some good photos for the blog!

Latest pics of Celtic village......

A view of the piggery (far left) on the outskirts of my Celtic village, although it kind of gets "lost" a little with the house of the same color behind it.

(Once I get some animals I'll try to get pics inside the fence, and some closer up shots.)

No, the locals next te piggery are not discussing what to do when the local Area Plan office asks why they didn't get a building permit before they built! But then again, you never know what trick those pesky Romans will pull to try and take the land away from the natives!

Hittite Guards now ready for action!

My Hittite army now has a phalanx of Guards.

They look like a right bunch of thugs, so we'll see how they go when I (eventually) get around to fighting a battle.

I now have the core units of my Hittite army complete. They could do with a few more foreign mercenaries to help them out though. At the rate I'm going this year, I'll be struggling to get that finished before Christmas!

It hasn't beena very productive year for me so far, so I'm hoping that will change in the second half!

Finally - Hittite Heavy Infantry Ready For Action

I can't believe it has taken me almost six months to get these guys ready for action.

I've got 48 figures, which will form two phalanxes of the heavy infantry that lumbers forward and cleans up after the chariots have smashed their way through the enemy ranks.

Still got guards to do, and some more mercenaries, but my Hittite army is now strong enough to fight. They are still greatly outnumbered by my New Kingdom Egyptians, but I think they could put up a decent contest.

The Egyptians used light chariots that were just fine for fast movement, and getting their archers close enough to shoot at an enemy, but not so great for combat. The Hittite chariots were heavier, and better for up-close-and-personal. So this would be a contest of different styles, with the Egyptian chariots buzzing around trying to soften up the Hittie infantry with archery fire, while the Hittite chariots are trying to smash their way through. Both armies would then send in their infantry to finish off the job.

Several upcoming projects planned, including Late Romans, Incas and Mayans! Plus, more villages and communities.
